You just can't describe this sort of thing with mere words.
There is more to this post than a happy dog - this is my tape, shot with my camera, edited on my laptop, and posted, in the web-friendliest format I could find, on my own page. This, my friends, is a studio in a box. This is the birth of the Feces Flinging Monkey Video Blog.
So what, exactly, can you do with such a splendid tool? Hard-hitting local reporting? Insightful documentaries? Compelling interviews?
Cat blogging?

Well, there's always cat blogging. Personally, I'm shooting for something more... something, admittedly, which I haven't exactly figured out yet.

Consider this an experiment in an evolving medium. I honestly do not know what I am trying to do yet, but for some reason, something in my gut tells me this is going to work out pretty good.
On the technical side of things, I pretty much started at zero and I've learned a lot in a short time. If you want to do the video-blog thing yourself, send me an email and maybe I can save you some trouble and time.
Speaking of technical stuff, you did read the fine print under each video, didn't you? You can select the size of the movie to best match your download speed. Really! It works quite well, too. (Set your speed to 1 Mbps or higher and the videos will look their best).
One last, important thing - if the video is not working for you, please let me know. Tell me what you're seeing on the screen and I'll find a way to fix it.
